Money raised by students at Haliburton Highlands Secondary School went a long way. The school’s Interact Club, which is a youth division of the Rotary Club, raised $5,000 in 2011 to put a well into the Barachira High School in India. HAVE has received confirmation that this school’s well is now operational at 680 feet deep. HAVE also paid for wells at Doro Krishnanagar Bani Tirtha Balika Vidyalaya (girls only, 945 feet); Dekhali High School (700 feet) and Raynagar Haramohini Balika Vidyalaya (750 feet). Sanitation facilities are currently being constructed.

HAVE to fund water pipeline
December 8, 2011 by Leave a Comment
The Help A Village Effort board approved funding for a water pipeline in Northern India at our board meeting Wednesday, Dec. 7. Through trusted NGO MGVS (Mussoorie Gramin Vikas Samiti), our organization will be helping seven families (about 60 people). The small project in a remote village will assist the Indians who were travelling 800 metres up steep and treacherous terrain to access water.
