I commend the many dedicated volunteers of Help A Village Effort (HAVE) committee in their ongoing efforts to provide accessible and safe drinking water to villages in India and other third world nations. Their success to date has contributed immensely to the well being of those in desperate need. In 2005, I had the pleasure of participating in HAVE’s Walk for Water in Glovertown in my riding. It was truly an enlightening experience. The driving force behind HAVE, Mr. Gerard Feltham, and other local committee members have contributed in a very large way to HAVE’s success worldwide, and I encourage you to keep up the excellent work.

Water is very important to our work at Canadensys Aerospace. We design systems for spacecraft that utilize water-plasma thrusters for propulsion and we are also building Canada’s first lunar rover, which will look for water in permanently shadowed craters on the Moon. As important as water is to our company, it is so much more important to all humans across the world who need it to survive!   So it was a natural fit for us to support the efforts of HAVE, which is doing critical work building wells and water filtration systems to provide clean drinking water to where it is needed most, in some of the poorest communities.   HAVE is a wonderful Canadian volunteer organization that is truly a force for good in the world and is improving the lives of countless individuals by giving them access to clean water, and Canadensys Aerospace is proud to play our own small role in supporting this great work!

We are very fortunate to have an abundance of fresh water in Canada and especially so, here in Haliburton County.  When I learned of the "Help A Village Effort "(H.A.V.E.) Charity Golf event, it reminded me of my parents being a part of H.A.V.E. in the late 80's and early 90's.  I want to continue this participation for such a worthy cause which provides fresh water with the construction of wells in India.  I can just imagine the joy that this brings to the many villagers and how it improves their lives so profoundly.  I am very proud of the Organizers, Financial Contributors and All those participants who continue to make this possibility a reality for those in need of Fresh Water.

I joined H.A.V.E. on the board when I retired from my teaching career, and always knew I wanted to make time to do some volunteer work...based in our community and globally. I had several friends on the board, and have always worried about fresh water availability worldwide...so it was a good fit when I was asked by Debbie Wales to join the group. I knew that this was a GET THINGS DONE, KINDA GROUP, and wanted to be part of the plan to bring fresh water wells to India. We live with an abundance of fresh water lakes in our county, but could never take that for granted....I have always been a part of fund raising personally and business related events, so it was a good fit for me and my family. This basic necessity of life should be given to all citizens.

Why do you support Help A Village Effort? Supporting local community efforts are important to me, that said the HAVE program extends outside our community where financial resources could not otherwise be raised to provide clean drinking water. What was your initial motivation in becoming involved with this charity that builds wells and water filtration systems in India? We are fortunate to have these basic needs as a standard in our society. Under privileged countries and communities need support. How does it make you feel? Can you describe the benefits you experience after you donate to HAVE and/or participate in our fundraising events? Seeing the community and the hard work put together by key individuals makes you feel proud to support the HAVE efforts.

As MHA for the Terra Nova District, and Parlimentary Assistant to the Premier, I am so proud to be a part of HAVE’s Walk for Water. Under the very capable leadership of Mr. Gerard Feltham, this organization has now provided clean drinking water to thousands of Men, Women and Children in the country of India.

It is a pleasure to have participated in a community dinner in West Vancouver, in support of HAVE. Drinking water is a precious resource that no one would wish to take for granted.

Helping to ensure that people in India have access to clean drinking water is an important humanitarian responsibility that we are able to share by taking action locally, thanks to HAVE.
